Ben and Jerry’s ‘Join Our Core’ is an annual online competition to find the next socially-minded entrepreneur. The competition allows participants to submit pitches to be judged by social enterprise experts Ashoka, as well as Ben and Jerry’s.
In 2015, we were tasked to support the existing web presence by increasing awareness of this great cause.
We saw an opportunity to support activity by integrating a crowd funding platform to the website, so fans were able to back the entrepreneurs, as well as developing a social campaign that was seeded through Twitter.
Fans really got into the spirit of the campaign, making it the huge success it was.
The integrated platform allowed crowd funding progress to be tracked and broadcast live, directly from the Ben and Jerry’s pages. This enabled fans to play an active role in the campaign, encouraging engagement.
Our crowd funding campaign was such a success that we raised one of the highest amounts ever through Join Our Core.
The social campaign enabled fans of the brand to win ‘money can’t buy’ memorabilia in exchange for spreading the word of the initiative across Twitter.
This gave a unique opportunity for fans everywhere to enter the competition.
