UFS asked Collider to amplify PG tips’ sponsorship of Comic Relief, and to support the retail campaign to raise #1MillionLaughs, so we asked ourselves; What if Monkey joined our tea breaks to say ‘hi’ on our phones and bring each of us a daily laugh?
Our plan was to create Monkey’s own FB Messenger channel where he personally reached out each day during people’s tea breaks to deliver a joke, bring chuckles and help raise 1 million laughs for Red Nose Day.
Via a custom-built Facebook Messenger bot, Monkey discovered when each person took their tea break and interacted with each user personally. Monkey then joined people each day during their tea breaks to re-engage and deliver his daily joke – in his usual irreverent tone.
The fun didn’t stop there, Monkey also got involved in other ways to expand the Red Nose Day campaign programme, including getting PG Tips’ operators involved, and helping raise awareness and money, as well as laughs, for Red Nose Day.
